Description:
Cloquintocet-mexyl is used as a herbicide safener in combination with grass-active herbicides mostly along with the herbicide clodinafop-propargyl to mitigate the herbicide's toxicity for selective control of annual grasses in small grain cereals. It improves cereal crop tolerance to the herbicide by accelerating the detoxification process of Clodinafop-propargyl in cereals.

Mammalian toxicity: WHO III, Slightly Hazardous. Environmental toxicity: In animals, it is hydrolyzed to the free acid as the major metabolite. In plant also it gets rapidly degraded to the free acid as the major metabolite. Cloquintocet-mexyl and its metabolites have low soil mobility, are strongly absorbed to soil and have low leaching potential. It is non-toxic for Birds. It is non-toxic for aquatic animals like fishes. It is toxic for Daphnia.It is non-toxic for Bees
